Eyezo for Windows

Your eyes, protected — right from the taskbar  ·  Windows 10 and Windows 11

Eyezo sits quietly by the clock with a live countdown to your next eye break. Every 20 minutes it guides you through a 20-second rest — then chimes when you can look back, so you never have to watch the clock. Glare Guard keeps the window you are working in bright and gently dims everything behind it.

Get Eyezo for Windows

Try every feature free for 7 days — no card needed.

Get it from Microsoft Store

Microsoft Store  ·  Windows 10 (1809) or later  ·  Intel, AMD & ARM

Try everything free for 7 days. After that, Eyezo keeps giving you an “Ask me” eye break every 20 minutes for free. Premium keeps everything else — as a yearly or monthly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase.

Free — no account needed

The 20-20-20 rule, free for good

20-20-20 break reminders

Every 20 minutes Eyezo asks if you are ready for a 20-second rest — the interval eye-care research recommends. Say yes, and it guides you through it.

Countdown in the tray

The Eyezo icon by the clock shows the time to your next break — “12:35”, just the minutes, or only the eye. Hover it to see why a break is waiting.

Smart idle detection

Step away and the timer pauses. Stay away longer and it starts over — your eyes already rested. Locking your PC or letting it sleep counts too.

Heads-up before each break

A small message a few seconds before, so a break never ambushes you mid-sentence. Start now, delay it, or skip it right from there.

Sounds

Windows' own sounds for the start and end of a break and for messages, with Eyezo's own volume. The end chime tells you when to look back.

Keyboard shortcuts

Ctrl+Alt+B for a break now, Ctrl+Alt+P to pause, Ctrl+Alt+D to delay, Ctrl+Alt+G to switch Glare Guard's dimming off — from any app. Off until you turn them on.

Also included free: open at sign-in, a “take a break now” item in the tray menu, pause for an hour, today's break count with your streak, and Eyezo in 17 languages.

Premium — yearly, monthly or Lifetime

Everything Eyezo does, for your eyes

Glare Guard

Dims every window except the one you are working in, so there is less on screen competing for your eyes. Black, warm amber or your own colour, separate strengths for the light and dark theme, and your other monitors too.

Full-screen breaks, on your timing

Choose how often and how long. Pick the break screen — Calm, Breathe, Horizon or Minimal — and Strict mode to hide the skip button.

Breaks that wait for your meeting

On a call or watching a video? Your break is held at 0:00 and comes the moment you finish. Eyezo only checks whether an app is using the microphone or playing sound — it never records or hears anything.

Per-app break rules

A full break screen in your editor, a quiet message in your design tool, nothing at all in a game. Pick any app from the list.

Smart timing

Typing when a break is due? Eyezo waits until you stop. Worked a long stretch with no rest at all? The next break is a little longer.

Countdown beside the pointer

A small ring by your mouse counts down the last seconds before a break — right where you are already looking.

Blink, posture and water

Small reminders to blink, sit up straight and drink water. The screen dims for a moment — they never block your work or need a click.

Scheduling

Choose when breaks may come: only during your working hours, or none at set times — lunch, a daily meeting. Up to three times, on the days you pick. Night shift? A time can run past midnight.

Your break history

Breaks taken, skipped and missed, the share you kept, your current and longest streaks, weekly and monthly totals — and a CSV export of it all.

Where to find everything

The tray icon — the eye by the clock (click the small ^ arrow if Windows has tucked it away). Right-click it for:

  • Take a break now, Delay the next break (5, 10 or 15 minutes) and Pause for 1 hour
  • Eye protection — the on/off switch for everything
  • Glare Guard and Turn off dimming for now — the quick way out if the screen ever feels too dark
  • Settings… (or double-click the icon), Eyezo Premium…, Send feedback… and Quit

Settings has one page per topic. Every setting has a ? beside it that explains it in plain words, with an example:

  • Breaks — how often and how long, Strict mode, the break screen, what happens when you step away, smart timing, scheduling
  • App rules — the rule for every app, and Add app… to give one app its own
  • Smart pause — what a break does during a video or a call
  • Alerts — where messages appear and how big, the heads-up, the countdown beside the pointer
  • Wellness — blink, posture and water reminders
  • Glare Guard — strength, colour, other monitors, fade
  • Insights — your break history and the CSV export
  • General — language, sounds, the tray countdown, keyboard shortcuts, open at sign-in
  • Account — your plan, the optional Eyezo account, settings sync

Settings marked Premium stay visible on the free plan. Your choices are kept — they come back exactly as they were the moment Premium does.

Your data stays on your PC

Your break history and your settings never leave your computer — there is no upload path for your history anywhere in the app. Eyezo contains no analytics, no tracking and no ads.

An Eyezo account is optional. You only need one to use a Lifetime purchase on a Mac too, or to sync your settings between your Windows PCs — and then we keep your email, the purchase and the devices using it, nothing else.

Frequently asked

What happens after the 7-day free trial?

Nothing is charged — the trial needs no payment method. Eyezo goes back to its free plan: an “Ask me” eye break every 20 minutes, for good. Buy Premium whenever you want everything back. The trial belongs to your Microsoft account, so reinstalling does not start a new one.

Is Premium a subscription?

Your choice: a yearly or monthly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase that never renews. Subscriptions can be cancelled any time at account.microsoft.com/services.

I bought Lifetime on my Mac. Do I pay again on Windows?

No. Sign in on Windows with the same Eyezo account you used on the Mac (Settings → Account), and Premium turns on for one PC — a free bonus while our cross-device service is available. It works the other way round too.

Do I need an account?

No. Without one Eyezo collects nothing that identifies you. Sign in (with Google, Apple, or an email and password) only for the Lifetime bonus or to sync your settings.

I got a code from Eyezo. Where do I enter it?

Open Eyezo Premium (right-click the tray icon → Eyezo Premium…) and click Have a code?. Sign in first — a code is tied to your Eyezo account and turns Premium on for this PC. Codes are checked on our server, so only real ones work.

Does Eyezo watch my screen or listen to my microphone?

No. Eyezo never captures your screen and never opens your microphone. To avoid interrupting a call or a video it asks Windows a yes/no question — “is any app using the microphone or playing sound right now?” — and nothing is ever recorded or stored. Glare Guard reads only where windows are, never what is in them.

Glare Guard made my screen too dark. How do I undo it?

Right-click the tray icon → Turn off dimming for now, or press Ctrl+Alt+G if keyboard shortcuts are on. Change the strength in Settings → Glare Guard. Note that the dimming shows in screenshots and screen sharing.

A keyboard shortcut does nothing.

Another app already uses those keys — Windows gives each shortcut to the first app that asks. The other shortcuts still work.

Will it slow my PC down?

No. Eyezo is a small tray app that wakes about once a second to check the time and stays out of the way otherwise.
