Everything Eyezo Does
for Your Eyes
Eight categories, every feature — including the ones tucked away in Settings — and exactly where to find each one. Five minutes here and you'll use Eyezo like a pro.
Getting Started
Why it matters: two minutes of setup buys you all-day protection. Each permission below has one job — none of them touch your personal data, and your usage never leaves your phone.
Install & sign in
Download Eyezo from Google Play and sign in — email or one tap with Google. Your settings, score and premium follow your account across reinstalls and phones.
Allow notifications (required)
This is how break reminders reach you. Without it, Eyezo simply can't do its job.
Allow "Display over other apps" (recommended)
Lets the full-screen break appear over whatever you're using — the most effective reminder. Skip it and you'll get notification-style reminders instead.
Allow Usage Access (for your Score)
Powers screen-time tracking, the per-app breakdown and Screen Guard limits. Measured entirely on your device.
Turn Protection ON
Flip the big switch on the Home tab. That's it — Eyezo now watches your screen time and schedules a gentle break every 20 minutes.
Battery tip: if your phone brand aggressively kills background apps (common on Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung), allow Eyezo to run without battery restrictions when prompted. Eyezo's timer sleeps whenever your screen does — the battery cost stays minimal.
Eye Breaks — the Heart of Eyezo
Why it matters: screens cut your blink rate by up to 66% and keep your focusing muscle clenched for hours. A 20-second look at something 20 feet away — every 20 minutes — restores both. That's the 20-20-20 rule, and automating it is Eyezo's whole reason to exist.
The Break Overlay Free
After 20 minutes of screen time, a calm full-screen break appears over any app. Press Start, look at something far away, and follow the 20-second countdown with its breathing glow. A completed break counts toward your score and streak; the timer restarts automatically.
Skip exists for genuine emergencies — but every skip is a break your eyes didn't get.
Where: appears automatically once Protection is ONAuto-Dim Wind-Down Free
In the seconds before a break, your screen gently dims — a wind-down cue for your eyes. Press Start and it dims further while you rest, then smoothly returns to your exact brightness as the countdown ends. Works with the smart overlay only.
Where: Settings → Theme → Rest Comfort (on by default)Four Break Modes Per-app: Premium
Smart Overlay — short warning, then the full break (most effective). Notification — a quiet nudge only. Progressive — gentle at first, firmer after 40 minutes of continuous use. No Interruption — silent; the break waits until you leave the app. Free picks one mode for everything; Premium assigns a mode per app category.
Where: Settings → Break ModeReminder Interval Free
20 minutes is the research default, but you can tune the rhythm to your work. Shorter intervals for heavy reading days, longer for light use — the point is a rhythm you'll actually keep.
Where: Settings → Reminder IntervalBreak Length Premium
The classic 20-second rest is free. Premium extends breaks to 30 or 45 seconds — more time for your tear film to recover on long screen days.
Where: Settings → Reminder Interval → Break lengthQuick Tools: Rest & Blink Test Free
Rest starts an instant 20-second break any time your eyes feel heavy — don't wait for the timer. It counts like a followed break (with a short cooldown so you pace yourself). Blink Test measures your blink rate so you can see the screen-stare effect on yourself.
Where: Home tab → Quick ToolsBreak Tips Free
After each completed break, a short science-backed tip appears — posture, lighting, blinking, hydration. Control how long the tip card stays, or turn tips off entirely.
Where: Settings → Break TipsStrict Mode Premium
Breaks can't be skipped and limits can't be raised until midnight. A self-binding contract for people who know their own weaknesses — and the backbone of parental control.
Where: Settings → Strict ModeTrain Your Eyes — Wellness Exercises
Why it matters: your eyes are moved by muscles, and muscles respond to training. These routines are physiotherapy for screen-tired eyes — rebuilding blink habits, stretching the focusing muscle and calming overworked retinas.
9 Guided Exercises Premium
Animated, step-by-step routines with clear do's and don'ts: Blink Reset (tear film), Focus Shift (ciliary muscle), Distance Break, Circle Glide, Gentle Gaze, Palming, Dark Rest, Posture Stretch and more — each built on published eye-care guidance.
Where: Wellness tab → ExercisesQuick Session Premium
No decisions needed: a ~5-minute curated sequence runs the right exercises for you. Perfect as a lunchtime eye reset. The screen stays awake for the whole session, so it never dims mid-exercise.
Where: Wellness tab → Quick SessionNourish — Eye Nutrition
Why it matters: some nutrients work inside your eyes every day — lutein and zeaxanthin physically filter blue light at the retina, omega-3s keep tears oily enough not to evaporate, vitamin A powers the chemistry of seeing in the dark. Eating for your eyes is real, and it's easier than it sounds.
38-Food Library Premium
From spinach and eggs to salmon and almonds — what each food gives your eyes, and simple ways to get more of it into normal meals.
Where: Wellness tab → Foods10 Eye Nutrients, Explained Premium
Lutein, zeaxanthin, omega-3, zinc, vitamins A–C–E and more: what each one actually does for vision, signs you're low, and the best natural sources — no supplement-selling, just food.
Where: Wellness tab → NutrientsMeasure — Your Eye Care Score
Why it matters: strain builds silently — you feel it only after the damage is done for the day. The Score makes it visible in advance, so you can course-correct at 3 PM instead of regretting at 11 PM.
The Daily Score Free
One number built from four things: break compliance (did you take your breaks?), late-night use (blue light before bed), screen time (total exposure) and your streak. Tap any day on the chart to see that day's timeline.
Where: Analyze tab (needs Usage Access for screen time)Screen-Time Breakdown Free
Where your hours actually go, app by app — measured on your device, never uploaded. Awareness alone changes behavior; the breakdown tells you which apps deserve a Screen Guard limit.
Where: Analyze tab → Screen TimeHistory & Trends 30-day: Premium
7-day trends are free. Premium keeps a 30-day break-compliance history and detailed screen-time history — enough to see whether this month was really better than last.
Where: Analyze tab → chartsDaily & Weekly Recaps Free
An optional evening summary of today's eye care, and a weekly score recap — small nudges that keep the habit alive without nagging.
Where: Settings → NotificationsPoints & Streaks Free
Every night at midnight your Score converts into Eye Care Points (half your score). Followed breaks build your daily streak. Points become spendable time in Screen Guard — see the next section.
Where: Home tab → points pillControl Exposure — Screen Guard
Why it matters: breaks heal the strain of the hours you spend on screens — Screen Guard reduces the hours themselves. Less total exposure means less cumulative strain, fewer late nights and better sleep. It's the other half of eye care.
Daily App Limits Premium
Give any app a daily time budget. When it runs out, a calm full-screen shield steps in within seconds — and reopening the app gets blocked just as fast. No accessibility permission needed.
Where: Apps tab → pick an app → set limitCategory Limits & Schedules Premium
Cap a whole category — social, games, entertainment — in one tap, with different rules per day of the week. Pause Screen Guard for a meeting; it resumes on its own.
Where: Apps tab → CategoriesThe Points Economy Premium
Earn: midnight converts your Score into points — good habits are the only way to earn. Spend: +15-minute extensions on a blocked app, or a short pause when real life needs it. Stay honest: every Monday the balance trims to 25%, and disabling Screen Guard forfeits it to zero.
Where: the lockout shield → "Get More Time"Raising vs. Lowering Limits Premium
Making a limit stricter is always free. Raising it mid-day costs points — and each paid increase raises the price of the next one (resets daily). Friction exactly where your willpower is weakest.
Where: Apps tab → edit a limitFamily & Kids
Why it matters: childhood myopia is rising sharply with near-screen time — growing eyes that rarely focus far away literally grow short-sighted. Kids won't take breaks voluntarily. Eyezo makes the healthy path the only path, kindly.
Link a Child Family plan
Generate a 6-character invite code; your child enters it on their phone after a clear, honest disclosure of what you'll see. Linked children get full premium included free (up to 2 on the Family plan).
Where: Settings → Parental Control → InviteWhat Stays Locked Family plan
Strict Mode locks ON for the child. Your PIN gates protection toggles, limit increases and every loophole — even changing the device clock can't cheat the limits. Only you can unlink.
Where: enforced automatically on the child's phoneWhat You See Family plan
Daily summaries — screen time, breaks taken, breaks skipped — plus an activity feed including tamper attempts. You can also set per-category time limits for each child from your own phone.
Where: Settings → Parental Control → your childMore Than Two Kids Family plan
The Family plan includes premium for 2 children. A third, fourth or fifth child subscribes individually and links in for the same oversight — up to 5 linked children in total.

Why it matters: the eye-care routine you'll keep for years is the one that fits you. Everything below is tucked inside Settings — most people never find half of it. Now you have the map.
